New I-287 ramp in Central Jersey to Routes 202-206 south opens

BEDMINSTER - The new exit 22A ramp from Interstate 287 north to Routes 202-206 south opens on Monday morning, the state Department of Transportation said.

The new ramp eliminates a stop at its end to allow traffic to flow more smoothly onto Routes 202-206 south. This should also reduce delays on the ramp and onto Interstate 287, the DOT said in a news release.

The $24.5 million project to improve the Interstates 287 and 78 interchange with Routes 202-206 is intended to improve safety and traffic between.

Two new bridges are being constructed over Interstate 287, one over northbound lanes and another over southbound lanes.

The project is expected to be completed in late 2019.
