Bishkek hosts 3rd CAREC Think Tanks Development Forum

Bishkek, July 17, 2018. / Kabar /. Bishkek hosts the 3rd Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Think Tanks Development Forum, during of which the main characteristics of investments in the region are discussed.

The aim of the forum is to ensure the dialogue between universities, thin tanks, governments and business circles to discuss key issues of politics facing the region and determining the main institutional problems of think tanks.

Speaking with welcoming remark Minister of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic Oleg Pankratov said that Kyrgyzstan is ready to become a platform for improving trade operations of a sub-regional scale. "Kyrgyzstan is able to assume the role of a production unit in many sectors, including the agro-industrial complex, the textile and clothing industry and others. This is possible due to the fact that Kyrgyzstan has become one of the most open countries in the region for trade," he said.

International experts, analysts and representatives of CAREC countries' economic institutions take part in the forum.

Also within the framework of the forum the experts discussed the development of the One Belt, One Road initiative, taking into account the attraction of investments.
