One of the marquee matchups of Week 13 sees two of the top teams in the AFC meet in a rematch from last year’s playoffs, both gearing up for the postseason this year, as Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs get set to take on the Cincinnati Bengals and their young gunslinger Joe Burrow.

The Chiefs continue to hold the best record in the conference following their dominating win over the struggling Los Angeles Rams last Sunday. Though Mahomes had a substandard performance (by his standards) he remains one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. His 29 touchdown passes and 3,585 passing yards are both best in the league, certainly building up his candidacy as league MVP. KC has now won five-straight games, building up a three-game lead in the AFC West, and is tied with the Minnesota Vikings for the second-best record in the NFL.
Cincinnati has roared back from its sluggish start to 2022 to get back to being a contender in not just their division, but in the whole conference. Last week in Nashville, they needed a couple of clutch kicks from Evan McPherson, and a fourth-quarter touchdown pass to Tee Higgins to help grab a 20-16 win from the South-leading Tennessee Titans. That, and a Baltimore Ravens loss last week, pushed Cincy to a tie for the top spot in the North. The Bengals come into Sunday winners of three-straight games, coming out on top in five of their last six contests.
Including their exciting overtime win in last season’s AFC Championship Game, the Bengals are 17-14 all-time against the Chiefs, having won six of the last seven meetings, with Cincinnati winning their regular season matchup in January as well.
MY PICK: Bengals win, 35-32
