From the Chair:
I would like to take a moment of your time to introduce myself. I am Pinkie Wood, and I have worked in the construction safety field for over 20 years. I’ve been a member of ISHM for the past several years. My husband and I live on the East Coast, and together we have raised 6 children. We also have 18 grandchildren, including 1 great grandchild.
I am very excited to be your Chair for the next two (2) years. I have met many wonderful people within our organization, and look forward to meeting many more. ISHM is an outstanding association that gives us access to extremely dedicated safety professionals from many different skill sets.
We have some new and exciting changes happening now and in the future. There are a few areas that we want to concentrate on over the next several years, and those topics include:
• Giving back to our ISHM society with a mentorship program;
• Finding innovative ways and opportunities to grow our community;
• Obtaining feedback from members on what is important to you as a member of ISHM; and
• Most importantly, let’s make sure that when safety management certification is talked about, ISHM is always the go-to organization.
These initiatives give us the chance to get many people involved in shaping our organization that may not yet have had the opportunity. Anyone looking to participate is welcome to contact us, and together we’ll determine how your skill set can best serve our organization.

Larry Curtis, CEO of ISHM says "Pinkie has been the most active Board Member over the past two years. Her contributions and enthusiasm have immeasurably improved ISHM. I look forward to working with her."
