Commissioner Malmström in Washington DC
The EU and the WTO | Washington DC, 14 November 2018
EU Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmström is in the US capital to meet with US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and discuss the transatlantic trade agenda.
On Tuesday, she also attended an event at the German Marshall Fund about EU-US trade and the future of the World Trade Organisation.
“We live in a turbulent, increasingly multipolar world. There are geopolitical shifts. There are emerging powers and environmental disasters. Unpredictability and instability define our time. In the face of this, the EU and the U.S. should stand together”, Commissioner Malmström said.
This Wednesday, Malmström will meet with USTR Robert Lighthizer to continue the work launched by Presidents Juncker and Trump this past July, as specified in the joint EU-US statement.
